Heart Space
Heart Space is a Black led and culturally competent healing circle and peer support program designed to help participants connect, share, and learn mutual coping strategies and wellness skills.
Our Heart Space program was developed in 2020, by our founder Yolo Akili Robinson and our Director of Training & Programs Natalie Patterson, after numerous requests from community members. Community members asked us for a space where they could share what they were navigating with others and also get tools, and resources to cope from the stress of the pandemic and ongoing racial tension. Heart Space is led by a revolving roster of Black therapists and wellness practitioners. It provides a low cost wellness and mental health care option for Black communities where they can find social support and mutuality and gain practical tools that help them cope, thrive, resist dominant oppression, and reimagine.
Heart Space is held every month in person in Atlanta, GA and Los Angeles CA, as well as virtually.
